Son of Alford and Philomenia Thornton. Named to the 2007 NBA Summer League First Team after averaging 17.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 29.0 minutes in five games played for the Clippers entry. Was a Sociology Major at Florida State. Native of Perry, Georgia where he attended Perry High School. Averaged 27.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 steals as a Senior at Perry. Named MVP at the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Game and the Georgia/Tennessee All-Star Game following his Senior season. Comes from a tall family with his dad standing 6’6” and his three sisters are all nearly six feet.
